Yanshan Petrochemical Co. Ltd belongs to SINOPEC and it is one of the largest production bases of synthetic rubber, synthetic resin, phenol acetone and high-quality oil in China. In 2011, for “the Project of Utilization of Surplus Heat from Petrochemical Units in Beijing, Yanshan Petrochemical Co. Ltd”, the “district heating technology based on absorption cycle” has been applied to recycle the waste heat in petrochemical plant , which can be used for building heating supply.
After the reformation, we have collected 60MW surplus heat and increased the heating acreage by 1.2 million㎡,  which equals to saving 25,000 tons of standard coal per year. The surplus heat recycled can reduce the emission of SO2 by 1.9 thousand tons, the emission of CO2 by 63 thousand tons, the emission of NOx by 97 tons and the emission of smoke by 17,000 tons. It is beneficial to the economy and society.
